31 and counting…
I knew from the start that 2009 would be a busy year but, so far, it never ceases to amaze me. A third a the year is gone and I don’t really know if it went fast or slow. I kind of feel like both at the same time. ^^ The rehearsals, the movie, all the work for my Ph-D, I’ve been finishing more papers over the past 6 month that over the past 6 years, A quick trip to Marseille, Yann has daughter… I think I’ll have to settle down a little to realize what the hell happened but it cheers me up to realize that I did or was involved in a lot of differents things precisely when I was feeling like finishing my Ph-D was taking all my time.
Anyway, as time flies, I almost reached the 1st of May without realizing it. Almost… Luckily, I’ll get the chance to spend my birthday with friends and to see my family shortly after. It’s a very short break before resuming my crazy race to finish my manuscript in a month but it’s a very welcome one. It also makes me realize that pieces are falling together and, despite my stress related mood swings, I’m quite happy with the way things are working out. I said 2009 would be a great year and it will be!
So, here are 3 things to look forward to in the coming months and about which I’ll give you more details in due time:
- ‘Bits and Pieces’ will be my first music demo under creative common license. The outstanding artwork at the beginning of this post will be the cover of this album and was drawn by Mischiev. I thank her 1000 times for that and, please, visit her website!
- ‘Last Stand’, the movie of the Orde der Noorderwind is going to be really amazing based on the previews I saw. It turns out to be a more larger work than anticipated with respect to mixing and editing so it’s not expected to be finalized before the end of the summer but it will really be worth the wait. If you can read Dutch, you can have look at the special edition of the group’s monthly online journal: http://northernwind.arandoir.com/boreas/12w5pm/
- Last but not the least, take a pen and the closest calendar and draw a circle around the 18th of September: the day when I should become a doctor if everything goes according to plan. I’ll keep you posted about that as well but you can expect a heck of a party…

And you didn’t write the day you’ll become a doctor
I wish you a very happy birthday. I think this one you’ll remind your whole life… Enjoy the party and take in it all the energy you need for the last month before the D day
I send you my best wishes for all

Not even funny… I’m still waiting for the proofs of my first paper as main author. ^^
But one day, I will have 31 publications! Or say, 20… Or 10, at least… One day…
