Resolutions
I’m finally relived from this pain in the tooth! In all honesty, I hadn’t been ashamed like that in a while. I’m very afraid of dentist and I hadn’t seen any in about 20 years. Needless to say, I was expecting very bad news like “all your teeth are f**ked up, there’s no hope” and I was afraid of spending some utterly painful time with someone trying to fix whatever could be saved…
What happened was actually not so terrible. Only one tooth had to be healed and the others are not in such a bad shape. Besides, I’m amazed by the improvement dentists made over the two last decades because the procedure was really smooth and almost painless… So, what’s the deal would you say? Well, I was very ashamed because I was so stressed that I behaved like a huge crybaby. The dentist had to stop several times to aks me if I was in pain and I could just answer “No, I just thought I would be so I’m very stressed”…
Anyway, after the season greetings in the previous post, I decided to follow another January tradition and take some good resolutions. However, this year, in order to put a bit of pressure on myself and to try really achieve these goals, I’m listing here my resolutions and I’ll come back to this post in a year… We shall see then if I really became a better person or not. :-p
1- Finish my Ph-D: If I don’t, I’m really screwed actually but that’s my priority number one so here it is, at the top of the list.
2- Be a bit more healthy: This will basically consists of losing some weight and find the courage to go to the dentist again before the end of the year to have my other teeth examined. (my weight is close to 90kg right now for the record, no teasing please… ^^)
3- Go to work at more decent hours: Everyone who knows me will laugh when reading that because I’m known to work at night, show up in the lab in the afternoon and basically live on a time zone on my own. I still intend to enjoy the working flexibility my job offers me but I’ll try to be less extreme about it.
4- Have and keep a real agenda: This goes a bit with the previous one because I’m quite desorganized. I always have to ask people about the meetings I’m supposed to attend etc… I’ll try to improve on that… to some extend. ^^
5- Make at least one short music album under creative common: I’ve had that in mind for a while and I really want to get this done. It would just be a collection of a few tracks gathered in one short album that I would submit to a few musical websites from which you can listen to free music. I will let you know.
6- Update this blog at least twice a month: I know it doesn’t sound like a lot but considering my history of “vanishing for month”, this would already be a nice achievement.
7?- While I’m talking about this site, get back my google page rank would be nice. I was PR3 at some point and I’ve been PR0 for a year and a half now. I don’t think my website is amazing but, well, PR1 or PR2 would be nicer than PR0. So, please, help me with that and link me if you have a website to help me get this infuriating injustice fixed. ^^ (and feel free to kick me rear end if I forget to update my links section with a link to your website)

Impressive list. Bonne chance pour le 1. Do you still hve lunch at the minnaert? It could explain your 2nd point.

I suppose it wouldn’t be fair to blame the Minnaert food for my gain of weight but it certainly didn’t help either…
